Field Service Technician

Your Tasks

  • Ability to perform tack-up and welding on various materials or parts utilizing GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW weld processes in accordance with weld procedures, engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions
  • Perform weld joint preparation and post weld clean-up
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability of thermal cutting of various materials by oxy-acetylene and plasma processes in accordance with engineering drawings, and written/verbal instructions, as required
  • Ability to operate fork trucks, man lifts, chain hoists, and other specialized material handling equipment in the execution of assigned tasks
  • Must be mechanically inclined, competent and capable, in the use of job-related equipment (provided by the Company):
    • Air and electric disc and belt grinders
    • Air and electric drills, saws
    • Magnetic drill
    • Hand tools such as wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, scrapers, hammers, tape measures, chisels, punches, pliers, wire-cutters, etc.
    • Portable oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting equipment
    • Portable hydraulic punching equipment
  • Capable of producing quality welds per ASME – Section IX standards
  • Capable of performing complex tasks with minimum supervision
  • Ability to pass all drug screening/safety trainings, per job site requirements
  • Performs other duties as required by Site/Plant Supervisor

Your Skills

  • High School diploma (or HSED/GED), or experience/aptitude in the Fabrication position to substitute for a diploma/GED
  • Welding certificate, or two years previous welding experience
  • Must successfully complete welding certification testing per ASME, code Section IX, in numerous welding positions, such as 2G, 3G, 4G, and 6G using numerous welding processes
  • Ability to instruct and mentor others
