Your Tasks
- Serve as a lead technical engineer for General Assembly and Conveyor activities in DSUS
- Lead development activities in coordination with other worldwide Dürr entities
- Lead customer technical discussion in North America for Global GA initiatives
- Assist sales department in business development activities
- Review of project kick-off documentation (Scope, specifications, budget (APSS) and timing schedule) for all new projects and correct and revise as needed
- Involvement in customer quotations for special projects as needed (i.e. brownfield projects) to insure feasibility
- Ensure robust design reviews are conducted to improve the quality of output in engineering
- Interpret schematics to develop complete system designs
- Maintain project schedules
- Interpret mechanical drawings
- Selection of purchased equipment
- Development of subcontract bid package documentation
- Responsible for complete hands-on design, analysis, and engineering calculation
- Support on-site installation and commissioning crew as required
- Attend customer meetings to understand project requirements
- Communicate with project team, customers, and suppliers
- Understand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problems
- Function as Lead engineer for general assembly and conveyor products in Paint Shops & Final Assembly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Your Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 years of position related experience
- Broad experience in general assembly and conveyor technology
- Design engineering calculation ability
- Able to read and interpret CAD drawings
- Ability utilize Microsoft Visio
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of SAP
- Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
- Able to work well independently and in a team environment
- Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
- Adaptable to change in a learning environment
- Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
