Solidworks Designer – Mechanical

Design and 3D Model Paint Finishing Systems in the automotive and non-automotive industry.

 

Your Tasks:

  • Create parametric 3D models of standard components
  • Create assemblies from components
  • Create drawings, and bills of material (BOM) for fabrication
  • Review designs for ease and cost reduction of fabrication
  • Resolve discrepancy reports from the fabrication facility
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to develop next gen products
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
  • May provide work leadership to lower level drafters
  • Attend and/or conduct design reviews
  • Support on-site installation and commissioning crew as required
  • Communicate with project team, customers, and suppliers
  • Understand, diagnose, and solve real or potential design problems
  • Travel approximately 5%

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Your Skills:

  • Associate’s degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience in related field
  • 2+ years’ experience with current Solidworks software tools
  • Design intent and assembly capability
  • Strong knowledge of configurations and equation based design
  • Able to read and interpret building and process related drawings
  • Ability to learn and utilize software specific utilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word and Excel
  • Ability to use AutoCAD 3D a plus
  • Knowledge of Industrial Paint Finishing Systems a plus
  • Knowledge of sheet metal forming and weldments a plus
  • Knowledge of buildings (structure, ventilation and piping systems) a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
  • Able to adapt to change
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary


Physical Demands:
While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
